About the Author

A book for the youngest Leukemia patient by a young Leukemia patient.

At the age of 23, Kassandra Nealon was diagnosed with Acute T-cell Lymphoblastic Leukemia. After completing chemotherapy, radiation and a stem cell transplant, Kassandra felt propelled to turn her misfortunate into something that could help others.

Therefore, Kassandra teamed up with her younger sister and stem cell donor, Sophia Nealon to create the child’s tale, “Bye Bye Bad Blood” which explains Leukemia in a light-hearted manner that children and their families will understand.

In addition to book, Kassandra has also become a Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Advocate and Emerging Leader as well an Imerman Angels cancer peer mentor.

Presently, Kassandra works at Be the Match where she contributes to multiple clinical trials which seek to improve treatments and survival rates in blood cancer patients.
